SeArch brings together archivists, librarians, records managers, museum professionals, students, and cultural heritage workers from across the Puget Sound region.
Our members come from a wide spectrum of organizations, including:
Academic archives and special collections
Public and private libraries and museums
Local, state, and federal government agencies
Historical societies and community archives
Corporate, religious, and school archives
Membership is open to anyone interested in the preservation and use of specialized research materials. When you join us, you get:
Regular gatherings & repository tours: Invitations to meetings hosted by local organizations where you can peek behind the scenes of other archives.
Continuing education: Access to workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities co-sponsored by SeArch and allied organizations.
A local support system: A direct line to colleagues who understand the unique joys and challenges of working with heritage materials in the Northwest.
SeArch operates as a volunteer-run nonprofit. We want our community to be accessible to everyone, which is why we're taking a pause on membership dues to refelct the needs of our community.
If you're in a position to give your financial contributions directly fund our events, workshops, and communication channels, keeping our regional archival network strong and active. Participate in whatever way feels right for you.
Seattle Area Archivists members meet 3 to 4 times per year. We also post events sponsored by sister organizations and our membership.
